AI reduces the cost of execution. It does not replace the judgment that complex markets require.
The Actual Problem
It is a reasonable question. In most industries, the honest answer is that the calculus has shifted and some of what agencies used to charge for has been repriced to near zero.
In regulated industries, the honest answer is different.
AI makes three things more scarce, not less: accountability, judgment, and risk absorption.
Accountability is the willingness to stand behind a decision and its consequences. AI does not do that. When a campaign runs in a regulated sector and something goes wrong, a language model does not sit in the room with your compliance team. Someone does. In a well-structured agency relationship, that someone is your agency.
Judgment is the ability to make the right call in situations where the rules do not cover the specific case. Healthcare marketing operates at the intersection of regulatory frameworks, clinical evidence standards, and commercial objectives that often pull in different directions. Financial services marketing navigates FCA guidance that is principle-based rather than prescriptive. The right answer in those situations is not retrievable from a training dataset. It comes from experience operating in the sector.
Risk absorption is what happens when something goes wrong. Regulated sectors carry real consequences for marketing errors: regulatory action, reputational damage, and in some cases clinical or financial liability. An agency with genuine sector experience understands that risk, manages for it, and shares it. A generalist tool or an offshore execution team does not.
What This Means in Practice
In each of those sectors, the marketing decisions that matter most are not the ones where more content or a faster campaign would have changed the outcome. They are the ones where the wrong call would have created a problem that no amount of subsequent marketing could fix.
A medtech company that makes an unsubstantiated clinical claim loses regulatory standing that takes years to rebuild. A fintech platform that runs a campaign misaligned with FCA fair value guidance faces enforcement risk. A healthcare provider that publishes AI-generated clinical content without proper review creates patient safety exposure. An edtech platform that misstates its data privacy practices to institutional buyers loses procurement eligibility.
These are not hypothetical risks. They are the conditions LD’s clients operate in every day. Our job is to deliver marketing that is commercially effective within those conditions, not despite them.
As LD's client for more than six years, I've always felt that I've been in excellent, capable hands. Lisa and her team built AIS Network's current website and has enhanced and maintained the site over the years. We are now engaged in a content overhaul, which is a welcome new adventure that will demand more of her design skills. Lisa's creative brilliance, technical finesse and no-drama professionalism make her a joy to work with on a regular basis. I value her insight, imagination, sensibility and taste. She is responsive and thoughtful, and she frequently exceeds my expectations. I trust her and that says it all.
CMCO, AIS Network
AI visibility for regulated industries.
Healthcare and Medtech
Healthcare content is classified as YMYL by Google and held to stricter quality standards before AI citation. Clinical accuracy, named author credentials, regulatory compliance markers and organisational trust signals all affect citation probability for healthcare organisations. AI visibility for healthcare requires building these signals systematically, not as a compliance exercise but as the foundation of a citation programme that AI engines can trust and cite with confidence. We build healthcare AI visibility programmes alongside MHRA and FDA-aware content strategy.
Enterprise Technology and SaaS
Enterprise technology buyers are among the heaviest users of AI research tools, and the most likely to be running research through corporate-provisioned Microsoft Copilot behind a firewall. AI visibility for enterprise technology requires covering both the public AI search layer (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) and the enterprise firewall layer (Microsoft Copilot, Bing-indexed content) simultaneously. We build AI visibility programmes for technology companies targeting enterprise procurement teams and C-suite decision-makers.
Financial Services and Fintech
Financial services content must be fair, clear and not misleading under FCA standards, and AI-cited financial content carries the same accuracy obligation as any other financial promotion. An AI engine that cites inaccurate claims about a financial services firm's regulatory status, returns track record or product capabilities creates regulatory exposure for the firm being described. AI visibility for financial services requires citation accuracy management alongside citation frequency optimisation.
Education and Edtech
University and edtech brand research increasingly begins in AI tools, prospective students asking ChatGPT to compare programmes, institutional buyers asking Perplexity to evaluate edtech platforms, HR and L and D teams asking AI to summarise enterprise learning solutions. AI visibility for education organisations covers both consumer-facing programme discovery and B2B institutional buyer research. We build AI citation programmes for universities, edtech platforms and education organisations competing in AI-mediated discovery environments.

Sector Knowledge
Every engagement starts with a team that already understands your regulatory environment, your buyer language, and your procurement processes. The discovery phase is about your specific business and your specific competitive position, not a crash course in your industry.
Commercial Outcomes
We report against pipeline contribution, acquisition cost, and revenue impact. Enterprise marketing has to be accountable to the business outcomes it is funded to produce, and we structure every engagement around proving that accountability.
Integrated Services
SEO, content, brand, demand generation, paid media, strategy, digital infrastructure, and video, operating as one system with a shared brief and a shared set of KPIs. One agency accountable for the outcome, not a coordination exercise across multiple vendors.
