We asked Luke a few questions about his freelance work. Here’s what he has to say about it:

What’s your favourite part of your job?
Along with the freedom it provides me to focus on music (my primary passion), it’s working with so many different clients. By writing for a range of sectors you never get bored!

Do you have any advice for others interested in the same career?
Quit whatever job you are doing and currently hate and just start writing. Find whatever work you can and if you provide quality, it will snowball. You’ll never make a hobby into a career while you have a comfort zone, so put yourself into an uncomfortable position where it’s do or die, and you’ll likely do.

What does working from home look like for you?
I thoroughly enjoy working from home. I’m lucky that my job is deadline-based as this keeps me on target. It can be easy to get distracted at home but think about all the extra time you do not spend in transit. It’s glorious.

How do you fill your free time?
I am a musician with a solo career and a band called ‘We Move Like Giants.’ Every spare second is spent making or performing music (or going to see others do it).
